Tomorrow is the day we start out for West Hollywood California!!
It has been a very hectic month trying to get my home and affairs in order so I can leave to do some travel nursing for the next few months. And because I have a decent chunk of my 401K money available, I have shopped my ass off...
I got a killer portable DVD player for the kids, and a neat contraption that suspends the player between the two front seats, using the rods of the front seat head rests for support. And I packed all of their movies into two DVD cases which zip closed. Those cases are great because you can quickly flip through them to find the movie DVD you want to watch. It took two cases to hold their 148 movies!! My god. That's way too many movies!!
I also got each of the kids a hand-held 'Leapster II' game system with one game for each of them. They can exchange the games and we can get more on the trip if they need further diversion.
I went nuts shopping for myself too. Those who know me, hang on to your panties.
I purchased several matching fancy bra/panty sets - from Victoria's Secret at $50 a set. And, I spent close to $200 on make-up at Clinique. You heard me right. I'm going to 'girl it up' in Hollywood. Expensive raspberry colored purse and matching wallet. Two new pair of shoes. Three new expensive scrub suites by 'Greys Anatomy' that have very, classy elegant tops. A new lab jacket to wear over my street clothes when I choose to work in those instead of in scrubs. (I'm going to get my name and title embroidered above the left pocket when I get to California). And, a raspberry colored 'Cardiology II' stethoscope.
Hmmm. Did I mention that I'm adopting pink and raspberry as my 'girly' colors?
Anyway, I have a few last minute chores to take care of and a ton of packing to do, so I'll drop back in tomorrow sometime to start my actual travel blog.
I am soo excited!!
